The Hand Held Products 4820 is designed for applications where tethered solutions aren't an option, the Hand Held Products 4820 (formerly 4620) provides the versatility of 2D imaging with the freedom of cordless connectivity. Hand Held Products 4820 features BluetoothT v1.2, which enables movement up to 33 feet (10m) from the base while its Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH) feature eliminates interference with other wireless systems.
The Hand Held Products 4820 features a field-replaceable lithium-ion battery enabling up to 50,000 reads per full charge, and is designed for applications where operators must move about to read bar codes. The 4820's small footprint enables hands free presentation scanning when docked in the base.

- Smallest footprint in class, simplifying installation and conserving valuable counter space
- Bluetooth® v1.2 Class 2 Radio reduces interference in existing RF backbones, including 802.11
- Only v1.2 uses Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH) to mitigate data collisions in the 2.4GHz frequency band, while providing a 33 foot (10m) working range
- Host-powered interface and RF link - an exclusive Hand Held Products feature that extends the mobile capabilities of the 4820 by drawing power from a portable device for radio and host communications
- Long lasting, field replaceable, high capacity lithium ion battery provides up to 50, 000 scans per full charge with no conditioning required
- The Hand Held Products 4820 features optional presentation scanning while the imager is in its base for efficient, hands-free data capture
- Multiple onboard interfaces including serial, and parallel, and USB
- Solid state, no-moving-parts design withstands over 50 drops to concrete from 6 feet
- The Hand Held Products 4820, includes printer drivers for Win 95/98, Win ME, Win NT 4.0, Win 2000, and Win XP
