The Datalogic Heron was developed to satisfy all requirements of POS, providing high performance and an innovative design suitable for small retail POS applications. The Datalogic Heron reads barcodes from near contact to over 20 cm, includes the “green spot” for aiming. The stand included in with the Datalogic Heron allows the reader to be used in hands-free mode. If placed correctly in the stand, the reader beeps and automatically switches to hands-free mode. The green spot remains on to show the operator where to position the code under the Datalogic Heron for quick and intuitive reading. Three models of the Datalogic Heron are available with different interface sets: the standard D130 multi-interface model (RS232, USB, WEDGE & WAND), the D110 model, providing complete connectivity to main IBM cash registers and POS terminals, and the D140 model, which performs undecoded reader applications. The Datalogic Heron D150 EAS is the latest addition, providing an integrated EAS antenna and special EAS cables, for ease of connection and compatibility with Nedap and Checkpoint EAS systems. In addition, Datalogic Heron reads Reduced Space Symbologies (RSS), an emerging symbology that can be printed on a smaller label, which meets emerging market needs for a greater amount of data on a symbol guaranteeing investment protection.
