It is a popular printer with government and military locations because of this but is also found on the warehouse floor making shipping and product labels. The standard Ethernet interface on all units makes integration a breeze and the option for standalone operation means the printer can go almost anywhere. Having options for 203 or 300 dpi on the unit allows for printing of very small and 2D barcodes without issues. The competing Zebra ZM400 may be a little less costly but the PM4i is quite a bit more rugged and capable for a better long term printer. When using the EasyLAN™ Wireless option for the PM4i, any attached peripheral devices also become part of the wireless infrastructure. Printer command languages do not restrict the EasyCoder PM4i barcode label printer. The printer can be changed to understand and replace competitive and older Intermec printers without requiring any changes to the host programming or label formats that are currently being used. The EasyCoder PM4i includes integrated wired or wireless EasyLAN networking. The EasyLAN Wireless interface uses an integrated standard 802.11b radio. This radio provides 128-bit WEP encryption of the information relayed through the network. Intermec’s wired and wireless technology ensures secure printing and network infrastructure for all environments. This is an extremely versatile barcode label printer.
