The Flic laser bar code scanner is used to scan, decode and store common bar code symbols. The ergonomic design fits comfortably in either hand making scanning comfortable and intuitive. A single button initiates a scan and a simple and flexible user interface, consisting of a single LED and audible tones, provides “good scan”, “device full”, and downloading indications. A time-stamp can optionally be stored with each bar code that automatically synchronizes each scan with the host’s system clock.
Flic’s flexibility makes it ideal for a wide range of applications. For portable applications like asset tracking the scanner can store 100 bar codes in memory that can then be downloaded for processing. Or Flic can be tethered to the host for immediate data entry for library or wired network applications. And if you require a little bit of both, Flic can operate tethered and then be removed and used in its store and forward mode for applications like healthcare, where it might be easier to bring the scanner to the patient rather than the patient to the scanner.
Each Flic can be associated with its user through an optional programmable identifier. No need for logins, just plug in your Flic and you are identified.
