ScanAsset is a complete Asset Management System utilizing PDA barcode scanners to track inventory, check assets in and out, and verify the location and condition of equipment in your business.
With ScanAsset's ease of use, you can conduct physical inventories from the PDA or desktop. The functionality of ScanAsset allows you to keep precise accounting of where your assets are located, the current value of each asset, and pictures of the asset embedded in the ScanAsset Database.
When the program starts, ScanAsset displays a notification screen that shows the user the following information:
- Assets that are checked out, and any that are overdue. Users can be set to send an email notification to remind them it is time to bring the asset back.
- Assets that are due for maintenance or calibration.
- Asset Inventories that are currently in process.
The ScanAsset "Organization Info Screen" is a complete listing of the asset locations in your organization. This listing uses a tree view so that you can easily see your organization's location structure. This location tree is limitless and can have any number of sub-locations. It can even use an asset as a sub-location, so you can inventory external periferals as part of the asset they are attached to. Using this tree structure, you can easily identify inventories within a specific location of the organization. This structure of ScanAsset allows you to keep concise records of where your assets are located.
The ScanAsset "Details Screen"  provides a complete picture of each asset in the organization. It includes but is not limited to:
- Asset Number / Code
- Description
- Location
- Responsible Contact / Department
- Picture of the Asset:
- Maintenance / Calibration Schedule
- Depreciation
The ScanAsset "Image Screen" is a way for ScanAsset to aid those taking the asset inventory. It allows you to find the right product and inspect the equipment for damage. You can embed all document types in the image field of the database.
The ScanAsset "Depreciation Screen" provides an overview of the value of a particular asset in the ScanAsset Asset Management System. You can track the asset's value, the time to write-off of the asset, and make determinations about the wisdom of using the asset for another year and bearing the maintenance cost.
With ScanAsset, you can check assets in or out and track the custody of the asset. The desktop program can email "Past Due" notices to the person responsible listed in ScanAsset. You can even transfer custody of the asset to a different person and modify the "due date" of the asset...and all this from either the ScanAsset desktop or a PDA barcode scanner.
The ScanAsset "View Screen" provides a customizable view of the ScanAsset Asset Management System. You can identify the fields you wish to view, the parameters for viewing wihle saving favorite or custom views. There is also a flexible "query wizard" to assure you see the assets you need to see.
ScanAsset shines when it comes to generating reports . Using Crystal Reports, ScanAsset comes with many reports in the initial installation, and custom reports can be generated by an intuitive and easy to use interface. You can quickly put reports together that assist you in management and accounting functions associated with your Asset Management.
